An Arizona man, Kendrick Harvey, has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly assaulting three individuals, including two minors, according to an announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico.
Court documents state that on September 16, 2024, Harvey, 35, who is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, assaulted Jane Doe and caused her serious bodily injury. He is also accused of shoving a minor identified as John Doe and striking another minor, Jane Doe 2, with a closed fist. Both minors were reportedly placed in danger of serious harm.
Harvey faces charges including assault resulting in serious bodily injury and two counts of abandonment and abuse of a child. He will remain in custody while awaiting sentencing; no date has been set. If convicted on all charges, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
“U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Philip Russell, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, made the announcement today.”
The case was investigated by the Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office with help from the Navajo Nation Police Department and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Mondragon is prosecuting.
“An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
